TITLE: The After Christmas Expectation <\/strong><\/h1>\n

Scripture: Phil. 2:1-11<\/strong><\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A YEAR FILLED WITH UNITY \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Church fights come as a result of two things:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Downgrading of (God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/span>) as the authority<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Two or more get a (burr in their saddle<\/strong><\/span>) not tied to #1.<\/p>\n

What binds us together?\u00a0 (striving together to make Christ known<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

(Selfishness<\/strong><\/span>) is the root of every sin.\u00a0 It is a (consuming and destructive<\/strong><\/span>) sin.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A YEAR FILLED WITH HUMILITY \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is important to acknowledge this: we have a natural bent to be (self-centered<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

The way of the worldly leader: they expect the (best of everything<\/strong><\/span>). They are given the highest places of (honor and respect<\/strong><\/span>). They expect to (be served<\/strong><\/span>) not (to serve<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 That was not (God\u2019s way<\/strong><\/span>)!<\/p>\n

We can\u2019t follow Jesus by His deity, incarnation, and perfection, but we can follow His example of (humility<\/strong><\/span>) as expressed in His incarnation.<\/p>\n
