Scripture: Daniel 1<\/strong><\/h1>\n

There are two tests in life: the test of (adversity<\/strong><\/span>) and the test of (prosperity<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DRAWING THE LINE \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

The book of Daniel is not about Daniel or his friends. It is about Daniel\u2019s (God<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 II.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 HOLDING THE LINE \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Major question: why were these 4 men willing to stand their ground against the attempt to conform them to Babylonian culture? \u00a0Because of (what they knew about God<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

Principal to remember: (God is in control<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

4 factors which contributed to Daniel\u2019s ability to stand firm:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Inner convictions<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Wise approach<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Divine assistance<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Unique Distinctions<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

\n

Two important principles to remember:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Inner conviction can overcome any (outer pressure<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God-honoring convictions yield God-given (rewards<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n
