{"id":10392,"date":"2022-03-27T20:34:55","date_gmt":"2022-03-28T00:34:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ovcf.org\/ovcf_wp\/?p=10392"},"modified":"2022-03-27T20:34:55","modified_gmt":"2022-03-28T00:34:55","slug":"sinisstillsin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ovcf.org\/ovcf_wp\/2022\/03\/sinisstillsin\/","title":{"rendered":"Sin is Still Sin"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>2022 THEME: For Such a Time. . .<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h1><strong>Series: Truth Decay<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h1><strong>TITLE: Sin is Still Sin<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h1><strong>Scripture: Rom 3: 1-20; Gen. 3:1; I Cor. 15: 21-22<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT SIN \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Salvation is designed to take us back to our original state- (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>without sin<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">According to the Bible, sin is a lot more than just the violation of some impersonal, arbitrary, heavenly traffic regulation with a heavenly cop monitoring it.\u00a0 It is a (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>breaking of a relationship<\/strong><\/span>), and even more, it is a (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>rejection of God Himself<\/strong><\/span>)-a push back against God\u2019s rule, care, authority and right to run our lives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">According to progressives (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>affirming people\u2019s potential<\/strong><\/span>) is more important than reminding them of their (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>brokenness<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Lurking in the background is a much more insidious false teaching: the denial of the (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>substitutionary atonement of Christ<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>II.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 UNCOMMON TRUTHS ABOUT SIN \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Rom. 3:23 -&gt; Rom. 6:23 -&gt; Rom. 7: 14-20<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">A simple definition of sin is (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>missing the mark<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">There has and always will be a struggle between the (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>old and <\/strong><strong><span>new<\/span>)<\/strong><\/span> nature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">I Timothy 1: 15 should be our (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>daily battle cry<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next Week: Series:\u00a0 \u201cTruth Decay\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Title: The Cross is Still the Cross- Is. 52: 13-53: 12; 2 Cor. 5: 13-21; Heb. 9:11-22<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2022 THEME: For Such a Time. . .
