\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WHAT DOES ENVY LOOK LIKE? \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

What things prepare the heart for envy?\u00a0 May 23 Truth for Life<\/em> by Alistair Begg<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Envy is (forgetful<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Envy misunderstands (blessing<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Envy is (selfish<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Envy is (self-righteous<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Envy is (short-sighted<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Envy questions (God\u2019s wisdom<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Envy can (hijack our joy<\/strong><\/span>), our (fellowship with others<\/strong><\/span>), and also our (fellowship with God<\/strong><\/span>). Why? Because (it isolates us<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 Envy is (competitive<\/strong><\/span>) and is always (comparing<\/strong><\/span>) our outcome to that of someone else.\u00a0 It also carries with it an inflated sense of (entitlement<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Comparison<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Criticizing and complaining<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Ingratitude<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Hatred<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

What is the cure?<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mark 7: 21-23- the (humility of Christ<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I Peter 2: 1-3- a concentrated effort to (rid ourselves of that particular sin<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n
