TITLE: The Lazy Cancer
\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Scripture:\u00a0 Pr. 20:4; 24: 30-34; Heb. 5:11-6: 12
\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cThe lazy one does not plow after autumn, so he begs during the harvest
\nand has nothing.\u201d Pr. 20: 5<\/p>\n

\nI.\u00a0 LET\u2019S DEFINE IT<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\nIn the history of Christian spirituality, sloth has two components:
\n(apathy<\/strong><\/span>) and (sadness<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\nLet\u2019s define it to give it a fuller picture:<\/p>\n

1. (Carelessness<\/strong><\/span>)
\n2. (Unwillingness to act<\/strong><\/span>)
\n3. (Half-heartedness<\/strong><\/span>)
\n4. (Discouragement<\/strong><\/span>) in the face of difficulty.<\/p>\n

\nII. LET\u2019S DEFEAT IT<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\nHeb. 5: 11-6: 12 seen through the eyes of sloth:<\/p>\n

1. Sloth stunts (your growth<\/strong><\/span>).
\n2. Sloth tempts you to (quit<\/strong><\/span>).
\n3. Sloth leaves you in (neutral<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\nHow do we overcome sloth?<\/p>\n

1) Don\u2019t (quit<\/strong><\/span>).
\n2) Don\u2019t (resign yourself<\/strong><\/span>) to this condition.
\n3) Don\u2019t resort to (artificial stimulants<\/strong><\/span>).
\n4) Don\u2019t (forget God<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n
