I.\u00a0\u00a0 WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO MOURN?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

What is Jesus saying by \u201cBlessed are the sad?\u201d<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 He is not saying, \u201cBlessed are the (miserable, cheerless<\/strong><\/span>) Christian.\u201d
\n2.\u00a0 He is not saying, \u201cMourn over the (difficulties of life<\/strong><\/span>).\u201d
\n3.\u00a0 He is not saying, \u201cMourn because you are (unfulfilled in life<\/strong><\/span>).\u201d<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0 WHAT GOOD CAN COME OUT OF MOURNING?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The essence of spiritual mourning, the kind Jesus is talking about here, is the realization of (what we have done with life<\/strong><\/span>)\u00a0 of our desperate need for the (forgiveness of the Lord<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n\u201cFor they will be comforted\u201d What exactly does that mean?<\/p>\n

1) First, who does the comforting?\u00a0 John 14: 16-17\u00a0 paraclete<\/em> means \u201cto come alongside.\u201d
\n2) Second, the key to comforting is to (draw closer to Christ<\/strong><\/span>) and draws closer to us.<\/p>\n

What good can come from mourning?<\/p>\n

1) You will always be aware of the (greatness of your sin<\/strong><\/span>) and the even greater (love and grace of Jesus<\/strong><\/span>).
\n2) You will always keep in mind the need for a (repentant and broken<\/strong><\/span>) heart.<\/p>\n
