Of the past 3400 years there have been (<strong>268<\/strong>) without conflict.\u00a0 (2003). Of the 244 years of US history, only (<strong>15<\/strong>) have been peaceful. (2020).<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>I.\u00a0\u00a0 THE CALL TO PEACE\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Before answer what a peacemaker is we need to answer, \u201cWhat is peace?\u201d\u00a0 The Hebrew word for peace is (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Shalom<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 Psalm 85:10-\u201cGraciousness and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">What is a peacemaker?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>A peacemaker is characterized by (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>honesty<\/strong><\/span>)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0A peacemaker is willing to (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>risk pain<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0A peacemaker is a (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>fighter<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>II.\u00a0 HOW CAN I BE A PEACEMAKER?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The imperative to make peace is found in several Scriptures: Romans 12:18 and 14:19.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">James 3:16-4:2. Eph. 4:3<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Solomon tells us what peacemakers do:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\u00a0They (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>build up each other<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 Pr.14:1<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\u00a0They watch (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>their tongues<\/strong><\/span>) and (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>heal<\/strong><\/span>) rather than (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>hurt<\/strong><\/span>). Pr. 15:1<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\u00a0They are (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>slow to anger<\/strong><\/span>). Pr.15:18<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\u00a0They are (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>humble and trusting<\/strong><\/span>).
