I.\u00a0 WHEN GOD SAYS NO TO A LEGITIMATE PLAN \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd when he had removed him (Saul), he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, \u2018I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.\u2019\u201c Acts 13:22<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Two things worthy of mention:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Uzzah reacted the way most of us would.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They were transporting the Ark wrong.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Disobedience always has its (price<\/span><\/strong>).\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

God is God.\u00a0 He cannot be worshipped in a way that violates His (holiness<\/strong><\/span>). Sometimes God says no because of (our disobedience<\/span><\/strong>).\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0 WHEN GOD SAYS NO TO A LEGITIMATE DESIRE \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Hard to watch a dream die and reconcile Psalm 37:5: \u201cCommit your way to the Lord, trust in Him, and he will act.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2 Samuel 7 we find David in a situation where his motives were pure.\u00a0 He went about it the right way. But the door is shut.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

David\u2019s heart was in (the right place<\/span><\/strong>).\u00a0 His plan was (noble<\/span><\/strong>).\u00a0 His friend (applauded<\/span><\/strong>).\u00a0 But God said No.\u00a0\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Turn to 2 Chron.22:6-10 (p.351)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

God actually gave David a greater Yes- (a covenant<\/span><\/strong>) that far outshined the Temple. It guaranteed three things:<\/p>\n

1. A \u201chouse\u201d or posterity<\/p>\n

2. A throne, or royal authority<\/p>\n

3. A kingdom, or rule<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

2 responses when God says No;<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 When God says no, He has (a better way<\/span><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 When God says no, our best reaction is one of (humility, surrender, and cooperation<\/span><\/strong>).<\/p>\n
