The events of the 1900\u2019s brought the demise of (hope).\u00a0 Anxiety and fear gave way to (desperation<\/strong><\/span>). Disillusionment gave way to (hopelessness<\/strong><\/span>). (Pessimism<\/strong><\/span>) became the dominant attitude.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cMany Christians, while believing in the resurrection and rehearsing that belief every Easter Sunday, effectively stick it back in the drawer for the rest of the year because they are at a loss of what to do with it.\u201d Allberry<\/p>\n

The heart of the Christian faith is (the gospel<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 Romans 1:16; I Cor. 15:3-8<\/p>\n

\nChristianity is rightly seen as a (life-changing experience<\/strong><\/span>), but it will only do that if you accept as facts certain events in history.<\/p>\n

\nTo borrow Paul\u2019s words, our faith is built on 3 truths: the (death, burial, and resurrection<\/strong><\/span>) of Jesus. The resurrection is built on 3 more pieces of evidence: the (empty tomb<\/strong><\/span>), the (eyewitness testimony<\/strong><\/span>), and the ongoing existence of the Christian movement.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cIt is impossible to account for the early Christian belief in Jesus as Messiah without the resurrection.\u201d N.T. Wright<\/p>\n
