He intentionally remains unrecognizable to them.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Jesus leans into their conversation: \u201cWhatcha talkin\u2019 about?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Someone to open their eyes \u2013 v 18-24<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Cleopas and his companion are (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>discouraged, dejected and confused<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">They were in need of someone to make sense of things for them. Someone to give them (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>clarity<\/strong><\/span>). Someone to reveal (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>the truth<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jesus reveals himself \u2013 v 25-32<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Jesus shines a flashlight of clarity about the Messiah on the (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Old Testament<\/strong><\/span>) \u2013 beginning with the books of Moses and through all the prophets<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Talking about value of seeing clearly what the Scriptures reveal: <i>All of God\u2019s purposes for humanity and all of His purposes in time and eternity can be known only to those who understand the Bible. Therefore, the greatest service that can ever be rendered to anyone is to explain to them the meaning of Scripture. <\/i>\u00a0\u2013John MacArthur<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Suddenly, Jesus is recognized when he breaks bread with them at dinner. The two companions turn to each other:\u00a0 \u201cOur hearts were (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>burning<\/strong><\/span>) within us as he talked and opened the (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Scriptures<\/strong><\/span>) to us!\u201d<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><i>Maybe you\u2019ve asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, but have you also let him <\/i><i>be your Good Interpreter?<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2023 THEME: Victory!
