TITLE: It\u2019s Off to Work I Go<\/h1>\n

Scripture:\u00a0 I Cor.10:31; Gen.3:1-19<\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

I.\u00a0\u00a0 THE HISTORY BEHIND WORK\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Genesis 1 tells us the story of (creation<\/strong><\/span>) and Day 6 records the cream of His creation.<\/p>\n

Chapter 2 tells us God put Adam (in charge of the Garden<\/strong><\/span>), made him commit to a commandment, and then created Eve as a helper.<\/p>\n

Genesis 3 shows us the (violation<\/strong><\/span>) of the commandment in 2:16-17.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0 THE ATTITUDE NEEDED TOWARD WORK\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Two faulty ideas:<\/p>\n

  1. \n
      \n
    1. \n
        \n
      1. My (identity<\/strong><\/span>) is tied up in my job.<\/li>\n
      2. My job is (less\/more important<\/strong><\/span>) than yours.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Some thoughts about work:<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. \n
            \n
          1. \n
              \n
            1. Faithfulness in work means approaching work as part of (God\u2019s good creation<\/strong><\/span>) for us.<\/li>\n
            2. Every legitimate vocation is (equally acceptable<\/strong><\/span>) before God.<\/li>\n
            3. Faithfulness mean our work, our vocation, is to be seen as being obedient to (God\u2019s call<\/strong><\/span>) on our life.<\/li>\n
            4. The proper motivation for any work, for all work, is (pleasing God<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
