Jesus\u2019 sacrifice on the cross takes the place of the punishment we ought to suffer for our sins.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">Their ideas in a nutshell:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Atonement is a<strong> (<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>cruel and barbaric<\/strong><\/span><strong>)<\/strong>doctrine.<\/li>\n<li>Jesus was not a substitution for (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>sin<\/strong><\/span>) on (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>humanity\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>behalf<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>II. THE CURE<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Two words need defined:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Atonement- Making as one.\u201d The NT word is (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>reconciliation<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<li>Ransom- \u201cto be bought back\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">There is no Christianity without the cross. Why?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>The cross was necessary to fulfill God\u2019s (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>eternal plan<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<li>The cross was the only way to (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>to save us from our sin<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<li>The cross satisfied the (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>wrath of God<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>NEXT WEEK: THEME: Run with the Horses<br \/>\nSERIES: Jesus Unfiltered<br \/>\nTitle: Resurrection Sunday!
