School is officially over for the summer and I hope you have plans to enjoy and relax! I have talked to several teachers and school personnel and I have yet had one of them say they are disappointed school is out. Now\u2026why is that?<\/p>\n<p>By the time you are done reading this MM you just might say, \u201cHmmmm. That was a youth edition.\u201d And you won\u2019t be far off the mark!<\/p>\n<h4><b>YOUTH CORNER<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amelia Biggs will leave 5<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">grade making her mark. She is part of the A\/B Honor Roll.\u00a0 Mom says she is growing up fast.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83d\ude26<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Hudsyn Biggs, her brother, was the proud recipient of the Hippopotamus Award, which\u00a0 is given to someone with a \u201cmassive sense of humor and ability to spread happiness to\u00a0 others.\u201d Kala, his mom, wrote, \u201cBlessed be his momma.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Sophia Kropack was chosen as Top Cat of her 1st grade class for the last quarter (9\u00a0 weeks). I think mom and dad, Grandma Linda and Aunt Jasmine just might be a tad bit\u00a0 proud of her.<\/li>\n<li>Charli Wood was chosen by Mr. Crowe for the \u201cRising Sun Award.\u201d This award is for\u00a0 exhibiting a greater level of responsibility for her learning as well as exhibiting respect\u00a0 and cooperation. Along with that she also received an Academic Excellence Award in all\u00a0 core subjects with a 4.0 for the entire year. Mom (Shelby VanDerMoere) may have\u00a0 posted that on Facebook.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OV graduation was this past Saturday. Now is the time of graduation parties and life changes. As\u00a0 promised in past MMs, I would like to highlight each graduate and tell you a bit about them and\u00a0 their plans. Here they are in alphabetical order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kathryn Anderson <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(OV) will be marrying Logan Cain on September 21<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, then they will move to Washington, D.C through early 2026. During that time she will earn an online\u00a0 associate\u2019s degree in business administration through Liberty University. Until then, she\u00a0 plans to work.<strong>\ud83d\ude0a<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her parents are Robert and Becca Anderson.\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<li>Caleb Bixler (OV) plans to attend University of Southern Indiana and pursue a degree in\u00a0 business administration. His parents are Matt and Lizz Bixler.<\/li>\n<li>Zach Dawley (OV) plans to enlist in the Army. His parents are Tyler Dawley and Sara\u00a0 Parker<\/li>\n<li>Annalei Dow (Indiana Connections Academy) plans to attend the University of\u00a0 Minnesota on a diving scholarship and major in Food Science in the Ag Dept. Her\u00a0 parents are Chad and Terri Dow.<\/li>\n<li>MiaRose Hess (Homeschool) plans to attend Cedarville University in Ohio and major in\u00a0 Finance and Entrepreneurship. Her parents are John and Jenny Hess.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Cooper King (OV) plans to attend University of Southern Indiana for Computer Science.\u00a0 His parents are Brad and Cara King. Fun fact: did you know that when Cara was searching\u00a0 for a name that began with \u201cC\u201d Jo suggested Cooper?<\/li>\n<li>Hunter Littleton (OV) His grandmother, Pat Harris, is proud of him.<\/li>\n<li>Hannah Pendleton (OV) plans to attend Grace College to major in Elementary\u00a0 Education. Her parents are Steve and Erin Pendleton.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">College:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mason Adams <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">graduated from Indiana State University in three years with a degree in\u00a0 Finance. He will be moving to Carmel this June for a job he accepted in the fall. His\u00a0 parents are Tom and Kristine Mangia.\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<li>Lily Bault graduated from Ivy Tech with a degree in nursing. She plans to work at\u00a0 Bloomington Hospital in the Pediatric Department. Her parents are Chris and Angie\u00a0 Bault. Grandma Rosie &amp; Grandpa Melvin are mighty proud of her.<strong>\ud83d\ude0a<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I would be remiss if I didn\u2019t take some time (words to be exact) to thank the crew who stayed\u00a0 Sunday afternoon for the workday. WOW, what a beautiful job they did! It was hot and sticky but they stayed with it. Next time you come make sure you take a look! Here is a list of those\u00a0 who helped (based on the group picture): Rusty and Karen Turner. Bobby (that tractor saved us\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">all!), Alli and Rob (he was having too much fun with that leaf blower) Anderson. Westin and\u00a0 Cassie Linville. Geoff, Michelle and Marla Lippert. Ryan, Anna, Caleb and Rachel East. Bob, Tiffany and Sophia Kropack. Joe and Charlotte Pavich. (Sophia and Charlotte helped Linda with\u00a0 the ice cream delivery. Thanks girls!). Gail Kempe. Brad Corder. Jerry and Carol Sturgeon. Linda\u00a0 St. John (who also provided a much-needed and much-appreciated ice cream break). And yours\u00a0 truly. Hope East took the picture. Part of the \u201cthis church spells HOME\u201d is the curb appeal\u00a0 people see when they drive in. With the Memorial Day holiday\u00a0 Monday); our daughter, Janna, coming in from Ohio for eye surgery on Tuesday; then Jo and I\u00a0 taking her back on Wednesday, I decided to take the week off from the MM. I hear a certain\u00a0 office manager yelling a big \u201cHooray!\u201d from her office as she reads this.<strong>\ud83d\ude0a<\/strong><strong>\ud83d\ude0a<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This week is my last sermon for the month of May focusing on women in the Bible. I\u2019ve entitled\u00a0 it <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hope and Hospitality <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and it will focus on Sarah and Lydia. Beginning June 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nd <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the focus for the\u00a0 month of June will be on men in the Bible. Since there will be no MM next week I\u2019ll fill you in on\u00a0 that Sunday. The sermon is entitled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Second Place <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and the focus will be on Abel and Andrew.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I look forward to seeing you Sunday. If you are taking off for vacation, please be careful and\u00a0 enjoy yourself. I hope you come back refreshed.
