Thanks for allowing me to raid your inbox and<br \/>\nfor taking the time to read this latest installment. There is a lot to include this edition. I hope it<br \/>\nwill be informative for you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This week is that dreaded week!\ud83d\ude0a<\/span>School starts. There is always a mixed set of emotions found<br \/>\nduring this time. Parents, teachers and students have a mixed bag of back to school jitters as<br \/>\nwell as what seems like an endless list of tasks still to be done. The parents are thrilled that their<br \/>\nchild is going back to school, but at the same time the family dynamic is upset. And then there<br \/>\nare the students themselves. What will school be like this year? Will I do okay? Will I like my<br \/>\nteachers and classes? For teachers there are also questions. Maybe they have moved schools or<br \/>\ngrades so there is a bit of anxiety wondering about the class and their own preparation. What<br \/>\nwill my class be like? Will I do a good job teaching them? So many questions&#8230;so few answers. I<br \/>\nthought I would put a bit of a chuckle into your first week of school with something I clipped<br \/>\nyears ago. I was looking through some files about a month ago and found it, so I put it aside for<br \/>\nthis week. It is called <em><strong>You Might be a Schoolteacher if&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Every day is a bad hair day.<\/li>\n<li>You worry about getting self-esteem violations.<\/li>\n<li>You want to slap the next person who says, \u201cMust be nice to only work 8-3 and have<br \/>\nsummers free.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>You stand on your front porch instructing the neighbor children to \u201cWalk!\u201d<\/li>\n<li>You refer to adults as \u201cboys and girls.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0You encourage your husband by telling him he is a \u201cgood helper.\u201d (Substitute wife when<br \/>\nneeded)<\/li>\n<li>You believe chocolate is a major food group.<\/li>\n<li>You can tell it\u2019s a full moon without ever looking outside.<\/li>\n<li>You believe \u201cextremely annoying\u201d should have its own box on the report card.<\/li>\n<li>When you are out in public you snap your fingers at children who are misbehaving.<\/li>\n<li>You give your husband \u201cthe look\u201d when he \u201cmisbehaves.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Putting all A\u2019s on the report card would be so much easier.<\/li>\n<li>You think caffeine should be available in IV form.<\/li>\n<li>Meeting a child\u2019s parent instantly answers the question, \u201cWhy is this kid like that?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">(Copied from Sermon Fodder and Joke a Day Ministries)<\/p>\n<p>Truth be known: good teachers are invaluable and often unappreciated. Each week we will be<br \/>\ngiving you an administrator or a teacher\u2019s name from this church family to pray for. Never<br \/>\nunderestimate the value of praying for specific individuals. So, please, when we give you a name<br \/>\nto pray for, please commit to doing just that. <strong>This week please pray for Andy Cline, the S-OCS<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>superintendent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of praying for someone: for almost two years now we have been praying for Maverick<br \/>\nPendleton. Maverick is the now 6 year old son of Josh and Becky Pendleton, friends of several<br \/>\nfrom our OVCF church family. This past Sunday I had the privilege of baptizing his father, Josh,<br \/>\nand then assisted Josh and Becky in baptizing Maverick, and his siblings, Maisy (freshman at<br \/>\nOV), Whitley and Waylon (who have both been involved in WRE at Patricksburg. Way to go Dave<br \/>\nSchenck!). An added bonus was Josh\u2019s mother and sister who had already made professions of<br \/>\nfaith but had never been baptized. It was a grand day!<\/p>\n<p>Three of our young people were presented certificates and recognized for moving up from 6th<br \/>\ngrade to the adult worship. They were Cecelia Arnold, Tad Nicholson, and Kyson White. It was<br \/>\ngood to see these young people who have been an important part of our youth worship on<br \/>\nSunday morning graduate. There were many in the kid\u2019s church who also moved up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaking of Kid\u2019s Church!<\/strong> The past couple MMs I have asked you to make a list of all the<br \/>\nteachers and helpers from Nursery to 6th grade in our children\u2019s programs. I said I would share<br \/>\nthat list with you and I\u2019d like you to see how many you know who help. So&#8230;here they are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Nursery:<\/strong> Mary &amp; Kaedence Beckwith, Sally Carlson, Hope &amp; Rachel East, Tami Grandi,<br \/>\nRyan &amp; Katie Keene, Will &amp; Sarah Schneider<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pre-K:<\/strong> Mary &amp; Kaedence Beckwith, Jasmine St. John &amp; Hannah Pendleton, Stacy Wood &amp;<br \/>\nAnna East, Krista York &amp; Cammie King.
