Title: What to Pray For<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Scripture: Psalm 40-77<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

I. A HEART THAT LONGS FOR GOD (42,66-69)<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

What is Psalm 42 about? A (longing for God<\/strong><\/span>) to fill us; to (erase the vacuum<\/strong><\/span>) that lives there.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of each man which cannot be satisfied by any
\ncreated thing but only by God the Creator, made known through Jesus Christ.\u201d Pascal<\/p>\n

II. A HEART THAT SEEKS PURITY (51)<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Several thoughts stand out to me:<\/p>\n

        \n

          \n
        1. \n
            \n
          1. \n
              \n
            1. The (raw exposure<\/strong><\/span>) of David\u2019s heart and soul<\/li>\n
            2. He gives (no excuses<\/strong><\/span>) for his actions.<\/li>\n
            3. He asks God (to do a work in his heart<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n
            4. Notice what was missing: (JOY<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              III. A HEART THAT TRUSTS (62,73)<\/span><\/h4>\n

              No matter who you are, we are all putting (our trust in something<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

              \u201cTo hear God\u2019s voice, turn down the world\u2019s volume.\u201d<\/p>\n

              Psalm 62\u2192 making God our (only object<\/strong><\/span>) of trust.<\/p>\n

              Psalm 73 concludes with two thoughts:<\/p>\n

                        1. A new awareness of (God\u2019s presence<\/strong><\/span>) flowed into him.<\/li>\n
                        2. The wicked will (perish), but the righteous will (flourish<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
