A LIFE OF EMPTINESS (Eccl. 1-4)<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">Vanity in Hebrew refers to a (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>breath<\/strong><\/span>) or a (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>vapor<\/strong><\/span>). Solomon is saying (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>life is elusive<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">If there is no God, no afterlife, and no final judgment, then life is (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>meaningless<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">Reading the first four chapters of Ecclesiastes is like reading the journal of someone who sees<br \/>\nlife, experiences life, and says, (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>What\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>use<\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>II. A LIFE OF FULFILLMENT (Pr. 19-31; Eccl. 5-8)<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">Fulfilled people:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Listen to wise instruction, especially the (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Word<\/strong> of <strong>God<\/strong><\/span>) Pr. 22:17-21<\/li>\n<li>(<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Fear the Lord<\/strong><\/span>). Pr. 19:23<\/li>\n<li>Associate with (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>wise people<\/strong><\/span>). Pr. 13:20; Eccl. 4:9-12<\/li>\n<li>(<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Flee from sin<\/strong><\/span>). Ps. 101<\/li>\n<li>(<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Bridle their tongue<\/strong><\/span>) Pr. 25:18; 26:20, 23, 28<\/li>\n<li>(<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Contented<\/strong><\/span>) people. Eccl. 5:18-20; Pr. 23:4-5<\/li>\n<li>Realize their limitations at (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>God\u2019s expense<\/strong><\/span>).
