Title: What the Heart Wants<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Scripture: Proverbs 19-Ecclesiastes 8<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

I. A LIFE OF EMPTINESS (Eccl. 1-4)<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Vanity in Hebrew refers to a (breath<\/strong><\/span>) or a (vapor<\/strong><\/span>). Solomon is saying (life is elusive<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

If there is no God, no afterlife, and no final judgment, then life is (meaningless<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Reading the first four chapters of Ecclesiastes is like reading the journal of someone who sees
\nlife, experiences life, and says, (\u201c<\/strong>What\u2019s<\/strong> the<\/strong> use<\/strong>?<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

II. A LIFE OF FULFILLMENT (Pr. 19-31; Eccl. 5-8)<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Fulfilled people:<\/p>\n

              \n
            1. Listen to wise instruction, especially the (Word<\/strong> of God<\/strong><\/span>) Pr. 22:17-21<\/li>\n
            2. (Fear the Lord<\/strong><\/span>). Pr. 19:23<\/li>\n
            3. Associate with (wise people<\/strong><\/span>). Pr. 13:20; Eccl. 4:9-12<\/li>\n
            4. (Flee from sin<\/strong><\/span>). Ps. 101<\/li>\n
            5. (Bridle their tongue<\/strong><\/span>) Pr. 25:18; 26:20, 23, 28<\/li>\n
            6. (Contented<\/strong><\/span>) people. Eccl. 5:18-20; Pr. 23:4-5<\/li>\n
            7. Realize their limitations at (God\u2019s expense<\/strong><\/span>). Eccl. 8:16-17<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
