Title: The Suffering Savior<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Scripture: Isaiah 52:13-53:12<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The road to Easter is paved through the (Old Testament<\/strong><\/span>). The death of Jesus was not a (last<\/strong><\/span>
\nminute thing<\/strong><\/span>). It didn\u2019t catch the Father or the Son (off guard<\/strong><\/span>). Nor was the road an (easy one<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

I. CHRIST REPULSIVE<\/strong><\/h4>\n

There are 4 \u201cServant Songs\u201d in Isaiah. In this one we learn (why<\/strong><\/span>) the Servant suffered.<\/p>\n

II. CHRIST REJECTED<\/strong><\/h4>\n

It is hard to see how people could (reject<\/strong><\/span>) the Messiah. Why did they?<\/p>\n

1. His pedigree was (unimpressive<\/strong><\/span>).
\n2. His (physical appearance<\/strong><\/span>) was unimpressive.
\n3. The ultimate (consequence<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

III. CHRIST REDEMPTIVE<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In verse 4 everything changes. The people thought something was wrong (with Him<\/strong><\/span>)-that He had done something to deserve God\u2019s judgment.<\/p>\n

Jesus Christ became our (redeemer<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

The million dollar term used for all we have been talking about is (substitutionary atonement<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n
