On anniversary Sunday, the Elders presented their \u201cplans\u201d for the future of OVCF.\u00a0 A major priority was the hiring of a full-time Youth Pastor.\u00a0 We believe we have the perfect candidate for this position in Ryan East.\u00a0 Our youth program is thriving.\u00a0 Children\u2019s lives are being positively affected and this move would only continue to help our church grow.<\/p>\n

We stated that we would be gauging the pulse of the congregation through trends in attendance and giving in the last quarter of this year.\u00a0 We cannot ignore the fact that giving needs to increase in order to make this happen.<\/p>\n

The leadership feels that God has blessed us greatly in meeting every need and overcoming every obstacle that has faced us over these past few years.\u00a0 You, the congregation, have stepped up with your time, your hard work and yes, your contributions.\u00a0 We have faith that the Lord will bless this decision.<\/p>\n

Several people have offered to pledge money that would be applied towards Ryan\u2019s salary.\u00a0 As a response to these offers, the Finance Team has created a pledge card.\u00a0 If any of you would like to pledge money to support Ryan\u2019s salary during the coming year, please pick up a green pledge card at the table. (Please see a member of the finance or leadership team if you have questions.)\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>If you\u2019d like to support this, please designate \u201cYP salary\u201d <\/strong>in your check memo or on a note if you are giving cash.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We will be using the rest of this year (2 months) to evaluate whether OVCF is able to support hiring a youth pastor.\u00a0 We will be looking at trends in attendance, in giving and at any pledges that have been made by the congregation.\u00a0 We would like January 1 to be the day we can ask Ryan to be our full-time Youth Pastor, and for him to give his notice where he currently works.
