I. The Old Creation:<\/b><\/h4>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A.<\/b> The Original Design<\/i>: God created people to exist in (fellowship<\/span><\/strong>) with Him.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 –<\/i>John Piper: \u201cGod is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.\u201d<\/p>\n

-We were designed for (relational intimacy<\/span><\/strong>) with God!<\/p>\n

B.<\/b> The Exchange<\/i>: Adam and Eve (and all people after them) disobeyed God, and in doing so (rejected<\/span><\/strong>) His design.<\/p>\n

-We traded what was (valuable<\/span><\/strong>) for what is (worthless<\/span><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

C.<\/b> Our Fallen-ness<\/i>: No one is innocent or free from guilt.<\/p>\n

-We became (worthless<\/span><\/strong>) in the sense that we (failed<\/span><\/strong>) to do what we were created \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0to do.<\/p>\n

-Worthless BUT (Valuable<\/span><\/strong>): God didn\u2019t throw us away. To Him we are worth fixing!<\/p>\n

D.<\/b> Reconciliation through Redemption: <\/i>Jesus paid the price!<\/p>\n

Reconcile: to restore, to make compatible, cause to (coexist in harmony<\/span><\/strong>)<\/p>\n

Redemption: to save; literally to \u2018buy back\u2019 -> the action of regaining possession of \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 something in exchange for payment<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II. The New Creation:<\/b><\/h4>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>New Creatures have changed:<\/p>\n

A.<\/b> (Affections<\/span><\/strong>): Set your hearts on things above!<\/p>\n

B.<\/b> (Attitudes<\/span><\/strong>): Set your minds on things above!<\/p>\n

C.<\/b> (Actions<\/span><\/strong>): Rid yourself of wrong behavior, fill yourself with right words \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and actions<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Where do these changes come from? (The Holy Spirit<\/span><\/strong>) works in us to convict and change and lead us into a (deepening relationship with Jesus<\/span><\/strong>)!<\/p>\n
