\u201cEnvy is the art of counting the other fellows\u2019 blessings instead of your own.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cFive great enemies to peace inhabit within us: avarice (greed), ambition, envy, anger, and pride. If those enemies were to be banished, we should infallibly enjoy perpetual peace.\u201d\u00a0 Petrarch<\/p>\n

I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 COLOR ME GREEN<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Envy is the desire to equal another in achievement or excellence or possessions.<\/p>\n

\u201cEnvy is when you resent God\u2019s goodness in other people\u2019s lives and ignore God\u2019s goodness in your own life.\u201d\u00a0 Craig Groeschel<\/p>\n

\n

Jealousy refers to having something and living in fear of losing it.<\/p>\n

\n

Jealousy wants to posses what it already has; envy wants to have what another possesses.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cA peaceful heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is like cancer in the bones.\u201d Pr.14:30 (NLT)\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cA sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones.\u201d (NKJV)<\/p>\n

\n

Who is susceptible to jealousy?<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Those steeped in (materialism<\/span><\/strong>).<\/li>\n
  2. Those who revel in (power<\/span><\/strong>).<\/li>\n
  3. Those who are motivated by (performance<\/span><\/strong>).<\/li>\n
  4. Those who are motivated by (professions<\/span><\/strong>).<\/li>\n
  5. Those who are motivated by (personal issues<\/span><\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    II.\u00a0\u00a0 COLOR ME FREE<\/h4>\n

     <\/p>\n

    How can we be free?<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Stop (comparing<\/span><\/strong>). \u201cNot that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.\u201d\u00a0 I Cor.10:12<\/li>\n
    2. Renounce jealousy as a (sin<\/span><\/strong>).<\/li>\n
    3. Reaffirm God\u2019s (goodness<\/span><\/strong>) to us.<\/li>\n
    4. Watch where we (step<\/span><\/strong>).\u00a0 \u201cBetter what the eye sees than the roving of the appetite.\u00a0 This too is meaningless.\u201d\u00a0 Eccl.6:9 (NIV)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
