Two Key Suppositions About Anger:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

1.) Anger is an emotion (experienced<\/span><\/strong>) and created by God, and what God<\/p>\n

created He called (GOOD<\/span><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2.) Anger has a purpose: (ENERGIZE<\/span><\/strong>) you to do something! (MOTIVATE<\/span><\/strong>) you<\/p>\n

into action!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Two Ways We Deal With Anger:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

1.) (Spewers<\/span><\/strong>): explosive venters, angry outbursts, \u2018blow a gasket\u2019<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2.) (Stewers<\/span><\/strong>): bottle-it-up, stored internally, grudge-holder<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sinful Anger:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Craig Groschel: \u201cSinful Anger usually results when we lose control of our emotions and take matters into our own hands. Sinful anger is getting angry at something–maybe even something legitimate, something that also angers God–but then allowing that anger to lead us to do the wrong thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Antidote for Sinful Anger: (Self-Control<\/span><\/strong>)<\/p>\n

Dealing With Anger:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

1.) Listen:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 strive to understand, lose the (defensiveness<\/span>)<\/p>\n

2.) Process:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 don\u2019t allow a knee-jerk reaction, analyze first<\/p>\n

3.) Respond: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 with love and self-control be slow to anger<\/p>\n

4.) (Pray<\/span><\/strong>):\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 before you respond, but also before conflict ever arises<\/p>\n

Ask yourself the following:<\/p>\n

1.) What\u2019s the cause of my anger? Is it worth getting angry over?<\/p>\n

2.) How should I (respond<\/span><\/strong>)?<\/p>\n

Righteous Anger is anger over (the right things<\/span><\/strong>) that evokes the (right response<\/span><\/strong>).<\/p>\n
