In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus is pictured as the (compassionate<\/span><\/strong>) Son of Man who came to \u201cseek and save the lost.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Luke\u2019s gospel is known as the gospel of (the underdog<\/strong><\/span>). <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Who is Luke?<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \n

    Paul calls him (the beloved physician<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    According to Col.4:11, he was probably a (Gentile<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    The first reference to Luke in Acts is 16:10 with the word (we<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Luke writes his gospel and Acts to Theophilus which means (friend of God<\/span><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

     <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    II.\u00a0\u00a0 SEE HIS ANALYSIS \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Why did he write the gospel?\u00a0 Luke 1:4<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Who was his audience?\u00a0 Matthew wrote to the Jews. Mark wrote to the Romans. Luke wrote to the (Gentiles<\/span><\/strong>).<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    There are two major themes which run their way through the book;<\/span><\/p>\n

      Jesus\u2019 Humanity<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      Jesus\u2019 love for the people.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Jesus is \u201cMighty in Deed\u201d (4:14-9:50)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        Jesus is \u201cMighty in Word\u201d (9:51-21:38<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      4. \n

        Jesus is Crucified and Resurrected (22-24)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
