True or False: \u201cYou cannot love with humility; you cannot have humility without love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say humility is not an act of submission. It is not lowering yourself.\u201d (A non-follower of Jesus)<\/p>\n

\u201cYou cannot have love without submission. Humility is an act of submission. It is lowering yourself to others. I believe this is the love Jesus wants us to have more than anything…selfishness is not in line with humility or love.\u201d (A follower of Jesus)<\/p>\n

Matthew 23:11- \u201cthe greatest among you shall be your servant.\u201d<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0 HUMILITY DISCUSSED \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

4 characteristics of humility in verses 4-12:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Humility is (unannounced<\/span><\/strong>).\u00a0 See Matthew 23:6-12<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Humility is willing to receive- (without embarrassment<\/span><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Humility is not a sign of (weakness<\/span><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Humility does not play (favorites<\/span><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\n

A few last words from Jesus:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Humility includes (serving others<\/span><\/strong>), not just the Lord.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Happiness results from (demonstrating<\/span><\/strong>) humility, not just (learning<\/span><\/strong>) about it.<\/p>\n
