Scripture: Mark 9:2-29

I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 THE HEIGHT OF THE MOUNTAIN<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

(Affirmation) is always good.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.\u201d Heb.12:2<\/p>\n

Why these three? Why not the whole group?<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. They would be (reliable witnesses<\/span><\/strong>).<\/li>\n
  2. They were chosen probably because of their (intimacy<\/strong><\/span>) with Jesus.<\/li>\n
  3. They were the acknowledged (spokesmen<\/strong><\/span>) for the group.<\/li>\n
  4. They were (chosen<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Transfigured is the word (transformed<\/strong><\/span>). It is an affirmation of (Who He truly was<\/span><\/strong>). This scene stuck with Peter. \u201cFor when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to Him by Majestic Glory, \u2018This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased,\u2019 we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the mountain.\u201d 2 Peter 1:17-18<\/p>\n

    II.\u00a0\u00a0 THE DEPTH OF THE VALLEY<\/strong><\/h4>\n

     <\/p>\n

    \u00a0The Setting: Verses 15-18<\/p>\n

    \u00a0Mark uses an interesting word: \u201che has a spirit what makes him mute\u201d is the word \u201crobbed.\u201d The spirit robs his boy.<\/p>\n

    \u00a0Check out the exchange between the father and Jesus.<\/p>\n

    \u00a0Jesus is in the (life change<\/strong><\/span>) business.<\/p>\n
