I.\u00a0\u00a0 DEFINING THE GOSPEL\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Sad truth: we base a lot of our evaluation on our (feelings<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

The Gospel is that Christ has suffered the (full wrath<\/strong><\/span>) of God for my sins. Jesus Christ traded places with me, living the perfect life which I should have (but could not<\/strong><\/span>), and dying the death I had been condemned to die.<\/p>\n

\n

Repeat: In Christ, there is nothing I can do to make God (love me more<\/strong><\/span>); there is nothing I can do to make Him (love me less<\/span><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\n

Problem: our hearts are hard-wired for (works righteousness<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 \u201cSatan starts with what you did, and tears down who you are. The Holy Spirit starts with what Christ has declared over you, and helps you rebuild what you did.\u201d Louie Giglio<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0 DEFECTION FROM THE GOSPEL \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Two words jump out at us from verse one:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Foolish<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Bewitched<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

\n

Paul asks 4 questions:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Question #1: \u201cDid you receive\u2026?\u201d [v.2]<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Question #2: \u201cAre you so foolish? [v.3]<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Question #3: \u201cWhat about all the suffering?\u201d [v.4]<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Question #4: A question about miracles [v.5]<\/p>\n
