Essential: joy and happiness are not the same. Happiness is dependent on (circumstances<\/strong><\/span>) whereas joy is an (inner attitude<\/strong><\/span>) not based on feelings or circumstances.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cFor the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.\u201d Rom.14:17<\/p>\n

5 hindrances to joy:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Not understanding the difference between happiness and joy<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Sin<\/strong><\/span>) in our lives.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Misplaced<\/strong><\/span>) confidence<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Experiencing (trials of faith<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Grumbling<\/strong><\/span>) and (complaining<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 WHAT ENHANCES JOY?
\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Understanding the (source of joy<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 \u201cMay the God of hope fill you will all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.\u201d Rom.15:13<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Confessing and forsaking (sin<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Trust<\/strong><\/span>) in God.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Proper (perspective<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Give (thanks<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n
