I.\u00a0\u00a0 TAKE TIME FOR A BACKWARD GLANCE<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

What to do about your past:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Look back and be stifled, almost paralyzed<\/p>\n

2. Use as a stepping stone<\/p>\n

3. Lesson to be learned and share it with others<\/p>\n

When you boil it all down this is what you\u2019ve got:<\/p>\n

You can live a (wasted<\/strong><\/span>) life<\/p>\n

You can live a (wise<\/u><\/strong>) life.<\/p>\n

Every trail, every life, has three things: a (past<\/u>), a (present<\/u>), and a (future<\/u>).<\/p>\n

Turn to Psalm 71:5-7, 9, 18, 20. (p.484)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0 TAKE TIME FOR A FORWARD LOOK<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

Lessons we can learn from Psalm 16:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 We are to remember (who God is<\/u><\/strong>). [Verses 1-2] This is the look (backward<\/u><\/strong>). An interesting phenomena occurs in these verses: Elohim, Jehovah and Adonai are all used.<\/p>\n

Elohim represents (power<\/u><\/strong>)<\/p>\n

Jehovah speaks of His (personal interest<\/u><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Adonai speaks of His (presence<\/u><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

2. We are rehearsing what (God is doing<\/u><\/strong>). [Verses 5-8]<\/p>\n

God is our (Completeness<\/u><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

God is our (Certainty<\/u><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

God is our (Contentment<\/u><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

God is our (Confidence<\/u><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

3. We rejoice is what God (will do<\/u><\/strong>). [Verse 10]<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
