<\/h4>\n

I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 HE PROVIDES A TABLE \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Sheep are unable to tell the difference between what is (good for them<\/strong><\/span>) and (what is not<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

There are two types of flowers which can be good or bad depending on color. It was essential for the shepherd to \u201cscope out\u201d the land for grazing. He would lead his sheep to a higher place. This was called (the tableland<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 HE ANOINTS MY HEAD \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The link between \u201cpreparing a table\u201d and \u201canointing my head\u201d is (in the presence of my enemies<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

Two pictures seen:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The shepherd would lead his flock to a field but before he does so he would look it over carefully, looking for (tiny brown adders<\/strong><\/span>) or vipers. He would \u201coil\u201d the holes.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One of the nuisances of the flock are parasites, particularly flies. Sheep were particularly troubled by the (nasal fly<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put His seal on us and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.\u201d I Cor.1:21-22<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

III.\u00a0 HE OVERFLOWS US \u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Two things are ours as a result of God\u2019s provision:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Provision<\/strong><\/span>). \u201cThe Lord is my portion and my cup, you hold my lot.\u201d Psalm 16:5<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Contentment<\/strong><\/span>) \u201cSurely goodness and mercy\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Comes when we (count our blessings<\/strong><\/span>) instead of making a wish list.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Comes when we (appreciate what we have<\/strong><\/span>) instead of comparing what we don\u2019t.<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A by-product of knowing the Shepherd.<\/p>\n
