I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 THE PROBLEM WITH WAITING \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When God delays, we feel (forgotten<\/strong><\/span>). [v.1a]\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cIt is not under the sharpest, but the longest trials, that we are most in danger of fainting.\u2019 Andrew Fuller<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When God delays, we feel (forsaken<\/strong><\/span>). [v.1b]<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When God delays, we feel (frustrated<\/strong><\/span>). [v.2]<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 David is frustrated by his own emotions<\/strong>. \u201cThe third time David asks, \u2018How long?\u2019 he refers to the combination of what we would call dark thoughts and uncontrollable emotions. When we sense God is no longer blessing us or present, we tend to ruminate on our failures and get into an emotional funk.\u201d<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 David is frustrated because of his enemy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 THE PERSPECTIVE WE NEED \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The turning point for David was (prayer<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

David prayed, not because he was a godly man (which he was), but because he was a (desperate man<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

David prayed three prayers in verse 3: (Consider me<\/strong><\/span>). (Hear me<\/strong><\/span>). (Open my eyes<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

When our feelings are stronger than our beliefs we will find ourselves blown away by circumstances and events out of our control.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThe steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.\u201d Lamentations 3:22<\/p>\n

\n

Remember who God is. His (character<\/strong><\/span>) never changes!!<\/p>\n

\n
