\u201cHoliness is the everyday business of every Christian. It evidences itself in the decisions we make and the things we do, hour by hour, day by day.\u201d Chuck Colson<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I.\u00a0\u00a0 THE REALITY OF HIS HOLINESS \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cWho is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?\u201d Exodus 15:11<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026the aspect of His character on which God laid most stress in the OT was His holiness.\u201d J.I.Packer in Knowing God<\/p>\n

Of all God\u2019s attributes, nothing compares to the splendor and beauty of His holiness.<\/p>\n

What does it mean when it speaks of God\u2019s holiness? It is chief among His attributes. His character is perfect in every way. He is totally pure. His moral excellence is the absolute standard of integrity and ethical purity for all in the universe. His holiness sets Him apart from His creation. His holiness never diminishes.<\/p>\n

The light of God\u2019s holiness reveals the (darkness of our sin<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 THE RESPONSE TO HIS HOLINESS \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

5 things happen when Isaiah comes into God\u2019s presence:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He sees the Lord sitting upon His throne<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The train of His robe fills the temple<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The seraphim cover their faces.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The foundations shake<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The house is filled with smoke.<\/p>\n

Prior to his vision, Isaiah was focused upon (the sins of others<\/strong><\/span>). Now he becomes dramatically aware of (his own sin and unrighteousness<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Pretty powerful lesson: We are only prepared to receive and comprehend the grace of God when we have understood His infinite (holiness<\/strong><\/span>) and (our sinfulness<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n
