I.\u00a0\u00a0 HOW ARE WE PERCEIVED? \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Peoples\u2019 views about Jesus matter because they tell us how clearly we are (representing God<\/strong><\/span>) and communicating His (message<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

A word we would do well to learn: (sanctification<\/strong><\/span>). It means \u201cto be set apart.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n

What are people saying about us?<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cYou Christians are so divisive. Why can\u2019t you guys get along?\u201d<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cChristians are no fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cChristians like to live in their own little bubbles.\u201d<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cChristians are mean and hateful people.\u201d<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cChristians are hypocrites. They\u2019re two-faced.\u201d<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cChristians don\u2019t really care about me. They are in it for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0 HOW ARE WE TO PROJECT? \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Three thoughts which are important:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We need to train ourselves to think (Biblically<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We need to understand what the world (believes<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We need to (Love<\/strong><\/span>) God and people.<\/p>\n

\n

Paul\u2019s thoughts for us from 2 Cor.2:14-17:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We need to (follow the leader<\/strong><\/span>), not take the lead.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We need to emit a (pleasant fragrance<\/strong><\/span>) of His influence in our lives.<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We need to (model the truth<\/strong><\/span>) no matter how inadequate; nor corrupt the message no matter how adequate we may appear.<\/p>\n

\n

Questions to ask:<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0 Am I really depending on God to lead me? Am I sensitive to Him?<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0 Am I living a triumphant life in Christ? Is He my focus?<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0 How\u2019s my smell?<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0 How am I doing as a model these days? Am I being authentic?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
