Sin NEVER delivers on its promises! It promises good things, but it delivers destruction, pain and death!<\/p>\n

I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The State of Affairs<\/strong><\/h4>\n

We are all in the process of maturing\u2026of growing\u2026of being (sanctified<\/strong><\/span>). Here\u2019re five reminders for us about spiritual growth:<\/p>\n

1.)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spiritual growth or a lack of it does NOT affect (God\u2019s love for us<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2.)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spiritual growth is NOT measured by the (calendar<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3.)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spiritual growth is NOT only (intellectual<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

4.)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spiritual growth is NOT only (emotional<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

5.)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spiritual growth has NOTHING to do with outwardly successful (ministry activity<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The State of the Heart<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201c\u2026Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0 -2 Timothy 4:10<\/p>\n

\u201cNo temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 -1 Corinthians 10:13<\/p>\n

The false promises of sin:<\/p>\n

1.)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The (Lust of the Flesh<\/strong><\/span>)\u00a0\u00a0 – \u00a0\u201cthe cravings of sinful man\u201d (NIV, 1984)<\/p>\n

2.)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The (Lust of the Eyes<\/strong><\/span>)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 –\u00a0 \u201ca craving for everything we see\u201d (NLT)<\/p>\n

3.)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The (Pride of Life<\/strong><\/span>)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 –\u00a0 \u201cthe boasting of what he has and does\u201d (NIV, 1984)<\/p>\n
