I.\u00a0\u00a0 A UNIVERSAL FACT \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

John cuts to the chase. His rule? NO (excuses<\/strong><\/span>) and NO (exceptions<\/strong><\/span>)!!<\/p>\n

\n

Two primary biblical definitions of hope. One is \u201cmissing the mark\u201d and the other is \u201cwithout righteousness.\u201d Weaving its way into the fabric of both is a basic truth: sin is a (transgression of God\u2019s law<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0 A FUNDAMENTAL TRUTH \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The primary reason for Jesus\u2019 coming was in order to take away (sin<\/strong><\/span>) and its (punishment<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

Christ\u2019s substitutionary death on the cross provided forgiveness for all sin for all time, how inconsistent it is then to keep on sinning as though it is unimportant.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

III. A LOGICAL DEDUCTION<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cKeeps on sinning\u201d and \u201ccontinues to sin.\u201d John is not talking about people who fail. The one who goes on sinning is the one who sins (with a stiff neck<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

It is not that people who become Christians never sin again, but they will not live as they did, because no one who sins habitually or consistently in the pattern of the unsaved person has seen Him or knows Him.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Verse 9 is clear: no one who is born of God makes a (practice of sinning<\/strong>).<\/p>\n
