Text:\u00a0 Romans 12:3-8<\/h2>\n

I.\u00a0\u00a0 TRUE THOUGHTS \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cTheological knowledge is the medium through which the spirit flows into the human heart, yet there must be humble penitence in the heart before truth can produce faith.\u201d Tozer<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cDo not think of yourself more highly than you ought.\u201d No matter how grounded we may think we are; no matter how theologically sound we may think we are; no matter how \u201ccool\u201d we think we are; we cannot be spiritually productive until (self is set aside<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

Here\u2019s how it works: (self-denial<\/strong><\/span>) -> (self-surrender<\/strong><\/span>) -> (selfless service<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 Keep this in mind: the basis of everything worthwhile that a Christ-follower has and does, is due to the (grace given him by God<\/strong><\/span>). Just as we are saved only by God\u2019s grace, so we can serve Him only by that grace. When our service become anything but one of grace, we have missed the mark and wandered off the path.<\/p>\n

\n

Three basic questions we, as humans, are seeking answers to:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Who am I? This deals with our (identity<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Where do I belong? This deals with our (security<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What am I supposed to be doing? This deals with our (significance<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0 A GOOD FIT \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Some speak for God (prophesy, teach, exhort<\/strong><\/span>); some perform acts of service (serve, give<\/strong><\/span>); others govern (lead<\/strong><\/span>); other perform acts of (mercy<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

Couple of thoughts about spiritual gifts:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Your spiritual gift becomes the basis for (making priority decisions<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Your spiritual gift is affirmation of (God\u2019s love for you<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A proper understanding of your spiritual gifts keeps the work of Christ central in (your heart and mind<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n
