Some wrongful ways we use our words:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Deceitful flattery<\/strong><\/span>). \u201cA lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin.\u201d 26:28<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Slander and gossip<\/strong><\/span>). \u201cA gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.\u201d 11:13 (NLT)<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Arguments, strife and angry words<\/strong><\/span>). 18: 6-7<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Boasting and foolish talk<\/strong><\/span>). 17:27-28\u00a0 \u00a0\u201cIt is better to keep your mouth shut and thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.\u201d Lincoln<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Profanity and vulgarity<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 THE POWER OF WORDS-USED CORRECTLY \u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\n\u201cSome people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing.\u201d Pr.12:18 (NLT)<\/p>\n

\n

What kind of words bring a positive message?<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Our words should be (honest<\/span><\/strong>). \u201cTruthful words stand the test of time, but lies are soon exposed.\u201d 12:19 (NLT)<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Our words should be (wise and sound<\/strong><\/span>). \u201cThe mouth of the righteous flows with wisdom \u2026The lips of the wise spread knowledge\u2026A wise man is he who listens to counsel.\u201d (10:31a; 15:7a; 12:15b)<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Our words should be (faithful<\/strong><\/span>). \u201cWounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.\u201d 27:6 (NIV)<\/p>\n

4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Our words should be (encouraging<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 \u201cGracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.\u201d 16:24 (ESV)<\/p>\n

5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Our words should be (under control<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n
