\u201cYou can\u2019t run, you can\u2019t hide from the Hound of Heaven\/You\u2019re free to choose or refuse the seeker of souls.\u201d Daniel Amos \u201cHound of Heaven\u201d<\/p>\n

I. GOD\u2019S PREPARATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jonah is desperate. It led him to pray:<\/p>\n

1. In desperation he prayed like (David) in Psalm 34:6: \u201cThis poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.\u201d<\/p>\n

2. In desperation he prayed like (Hannah), who was childless. \u201cShe was deeply distressed and prayed to the Lord and wept bitterly.\u201d I Sam.1:10<\/p>\n

3. In desperation he prayed like (Jeremiah). \u201cWater closed over my head; I said, \u2018I am lost.\u2019\u201d Lam.3:54<\/p>\n

4. In desperation he prayed like (Jesus) in the garden.<\/p>\n

II. JONAH\u2019S PRAYER<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jonah experiencing in real life what many of us talk about. See Psalm 69:1-2,14-15.<\/p>\n

\u201cDavid was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him\u2026But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.\u201d I Sam.30:6<\/p>\n

What can we learn from this scene in Jonah\u2019s life?<\/p>\n

1. We must learn to pray in the midst of our (failure).<\/p>\n

2. We must learn to thank the Lord for confronting us with our (disobedience).<\/p>\n

3. We must learn to (see ourselves) in Jonah\u2019s life.<\/p>\n
