I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 BY SHOWING COMPASSION \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cA church can become part of the problem instead of part of the solution. \u201c\u00a0 Jud Wilhite in Stripped<\/p>\n

\u201cBe careful, lest in fighting the dragon you become the dragon.\u201d Nietzche<\/p>\n

To become (judgmental and condemning<\/strong><\/span>) is not the way of Jesus and should not be the way of any church.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 BY SHOWING EMPATHY \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h4>\n

There is a difference between (sympathy<\/strong><\/span>) and (empathy<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

– Sympathy can be broken down by saying it is \u201cfeeling sorry for someone.\u201d<\/p>\n

– Empathy can be broken down by saying it is \u201cbeing able to put yourself into someone\u2019s shoes and know how they feel.\u201d<\/p>\n

– Sympathy is (feeling sorry<\/strong><\/span>); empathy is (acting upon those feelings<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen people look at your life, it should so easy for them to see Jesus in how you treat them, love them, and share truth with them.\u201d\u00a0 (God of Tomorrow-p.200)<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can be orthodox in our theology while committing heresy by how we treat others.\u201d\u00a0 (p.196)<\/p>\n

How do we show compassion and empathy?<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Allow our heart (to break<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ask God for a (mission<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter how much you know if you have no compassion to show.\u201d<\/p>\n
