 <\/p>\n

\u201cNow these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cNow these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come.\u201d \u201cTherefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.\u201d I Cor.10:6, 11-12<\/p>\n

I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 HIS CRY FOR HELP (HIS SOS) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>
\n\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

We don\u2019t live in a series of (big, dramatic<\/strong><\/span>) moments. We don\u2019t go from (one big<\/strong><\/span>) decision to another. We all live in a series of (little moments<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 The character of a life is set in ten thousand little moments of everyday life.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Two things are evident in Psalm 51 right off the bat:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The first is a fierce, almost desperate clinging to (God\u2019s mercy<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\u201cI will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name \u2018The Lord.\u2019 And I will be gracious to whom I will gracious and will show mercy to whom I will show mercy.\u201d Ex.33:19<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 David\u2019s profound awareness of (his sin<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 HIS CONFESSION AND CLEANSING \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In verses 1-2 he uses three words to describe his sin:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Transgressions<\/strong><\/span>) which refers to crossing a line of a forbidden boundary.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Iniquity<\/strong><\/span>) which means \u201cperversions.\u201d<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Sin<\/strong><\/span>) which means missing the mark.<\/p>\n

\n

So it is like this:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I am aware of my sin [v.3]<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I know that it is sin. [v.4]<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I confess my sin.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThough your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.\u201d Is.1:18<\/p>\n
