I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 THE PROCLAMATION OF THE GOOD NEWS \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at the announcement:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It was made to (shepherds<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 This is so unusual because the shepherds were at the (bottom<\/strong><\/span>) of the food chain.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It was made to those (who least expected it<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It was laden with golden nuggets of (information).\u00a0 He is bringing them (Good News<\/strong><\/span>). The (Savior<\/strong><\/span>) has been born in Bethlehem.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The shepherds were instantly (curious and obedient<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They told (whoever would listen<\/strong><\/span>) what they had (heard, seen, and found).<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 THE PICTURE OF THE GOOD NEWS \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In Luke 2 Jesus is called by three names:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He is called (Savior<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He is called (Christ<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 The OT counterpart of that name is (Messiah).\u00a0 The name means anointed One.<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He is called (Lord<\/strong><\/span>). The word Lord is also the same word used for Yahweh.<\/p>\n

\n

In Matthew 1 Jesus is given two names:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He is given the name (Jesus<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He is given the name (Emmanuel<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n
