I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 GOD AT A DISTANCE<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Here\u2019s a question for you: How religious do you want to be?<\/p>\n

\n

The background to the Scripture in Exodus 33:<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God met Moses on the mountain<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Moses comes down and breaks the tablets<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Melts down idol and makes them drink it.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Issues a challenge.<\/p>\n

\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 GOD IN THE PRESENT \u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

God says He can\u2019t live in their midst. Why? (It was too dangerous for them<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 Why? Because He would destroy them. His (holiness and justice for righteousness<\/strong><\/span>) would obliterate them.<\/p>\n

\n

The Tabernacle was a mobile tent. It contained several items vital to worship:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 An outer court where the Brazen Altar and Laver were located.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There were 2 rooms in the Tabernacle itself:<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Holy Place<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Candlestick<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Table of Shewbread<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Altar of Incense<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Holy of Holies<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ark of the Covenant<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 These two rooms were separated by a veil which we are told was torn from top to bottom at the crucifixion.<\/p>\n

\n

Moses recognizes his own need for God\u2019s presence. Exodus 33: 13-21<\/p>\n
