The Bible is supremely a book about Jesus.<\/p>\n

1. The OT records the (preparation<\/strong><\/span>) for His coming.
\n2. The gospels present Him as (God in human flesh<\/strong><\/span>).
\n3. Acts shows us the spread of the message of (salvation<\/strong><\/span>).
\n4. The epistles give us our (theology<\/strong><\/span>) and show Christ in (His Body<\/strong><\/span>), the church.
\n5. Revelation presents Christ (triumphant<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Heresy definition: a bad idea about Jesus.<\/p>\n

\nPaul\u2019s powerful descriptions of Jesus:<\/p>\n

1. The image of the invisible God.
\n2. The firstborn of all creation.<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 SUPREME IN RELATION TO CREATION\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

How is He supreme?<\/p>\n

1. He is the (Creator<\/strong><\/span>).
\n2. He was (before all things<\/strong><\/span>).
\n3. He holds (all things together<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

III.\u00a0 SUPREME IN RELATION TO THE CHURCH\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The church is a (Body<\/strong><\/span>), and Christ is the Head of that Body. The church is not a (business<\/strong><\/span>); it is a (living organism<\/strong><\/span>) and it is inseparably tied together by the (living Christ<\/strong><\/span>). He controls (every part<\/strong><\/span>) of it and gives it (life and direction<\/strong><\/span>). As members of that Body, we are (totally dependent<\/strong><\/span>) upon the Head.<\/p>\n

\nJesus is what no one else can say: the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, the preeminent one. He is the source. He is the highest in rank. He is the first in everything.<\/p>\n
