The OT records the (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>preparation<\/strong><\/span>) for His coming.<br \/>\n2. The gospels present Him as (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>God in human flesh<\/strong><\/span>).<br \/>\n3. Acts shows us the spread of the message of (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>salvation<\/strong><\/span>).<br \/>\n4. The epistles give us our (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>theology<\/strong><\/span>) and show Christ in (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>His Body<\/strong><\/span>), the church.<br \/>\n5. Revelation presents Christ (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>triumphant<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Heresy definition: a bad idea about Jesus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\nPaul\u2019s powerful descriptions of Jesus:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">1. The image of the invisible God.<br \/>\n2. The firstborn of all creation.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>II.\u00a0\u00a0 SUPREME IN RELATION TO CREATION\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">How is He supreme?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">1. He is the (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Creator<\/strong><\/span>).<br \/>\n2. He was (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>before all things<\/strong><\/span>).<br \/>\n3. He holds (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>all things together<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<h4><strong>III.\u00a0 SUPREME IN RELATION TO THE CHURCH\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The church is a (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Body<\/strong><\/span>), and Christ is the Head of that Body. The church is not a (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>business<\/strong><\/span>); it is a (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>living organism<\/strong><\/span>) and it is inseparably tied together by the (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>living Christ<\/strong><\/span>). He controls (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>every part<\/strong><\/span>) of it and gives it (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>life and direction<\/strong><\/span>). As members of that Body, we are (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>totally dependent<\/strong><\/span>) upon the Head.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\nJesus is what no one else can say: the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, the preeminent one. He is the source. He is the highest in rank.
