{"id":8910,"date":"2020-04-12T17:00:46","date_gmt":"2020-04-12T21:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ovcf.org\/ovcf_wp\/?p=8910"},"modified":"2020-04-12T17:00:46","modified_gmt":"2020-04-12T21:00:46","slug":"choose","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ovcf.org\/ovcf_wp\/2020\/04\/choose\/","title":{"rendered":"Choose!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>2020 THEME: TRUTH<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>SERIES: Supremacy<\/h2>\n<h2><strong>TITLE: Choose!<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h4><strong>Scripture:\u00a0 Colossians 2:8-15<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>I.\u00a0\u00a0 THE DEFICIENCY OF PHILOSOPHY\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Philosophy comes from two Greek words: phileo which means \u201cto love\u201d and sophia which means \u201cwisdom.\u201d So philosophy is the love and pursuit of wisdom.<\/p>\n<p>Paul gives four characteristics of this dangerous seductive philosophy:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>It was (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>deceptive<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<li>It claimed (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>good origins<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<li>It was (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>demon controlled<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<li>It was (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>enslaving<\/strong><\/span>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>II.\u00a0\u00a0 THE SUFFICIENCY OF CHRIST<\/h4>\n<p>What separates a cult from real truth and orthodox Christianity is what they (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>think about Jesus<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>Verse 9- One commentator: \u201cIt presents the glorious majesty of Christ\u2019s Person and His complete sufficiency.\u201d \u00a0 This verse is telling us Jesus is more than just godlike.
