I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CHALLENGE #1: SEEK THINGS ABOVE\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

A parallel Scripture: \u201cI have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me\u2026\u201d Gal.2:20<\/p>\n

\nWhen Paul tells us to focus on things above what does he mean? Not physical but on God\u2019s (character<\/strong><\/span>), His (presence<\/strong><\/span>), His (heavenly joys<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 We don\u2019t seek heaven, we see (the One who lives there<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\nII.\u00a0\u00a0 CHALLENGE #2: GET RID OF GARBAGE\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Paul tells us to get rid of things:<\/p>\n

1. (Sensuality<\/strong><\/span>)
\n2. (Materialism<\/strong><\/span>)
\n3. (Negative emotions<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

III.\u00a0 CHALLENGE #3: ADD THE ESSENTIALS\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This new kind of life does not begin with self-reformation or us turning over a new leaf. It isn\u2019t pulling ourselves up by our own bootstraps. It isn\u2019t something we can do on our own!<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWherever, Whatever, Whenever, However\u2026Christ!\u201d (Swindoll commentary)<\/p>\n

1. (Word<\/strong><\/span>)- Deals with everything we say.
\n2. (Deed<\/strong><\/span>)- Deals with everything from our daily routine.<\/p>\n
