{"id":9290,"date":"2020-10-18T13:18:27","date_gmt":"2020-10-18T17:18:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ovcf.org\/ovcf_wp\/?p=9290"},"modified":"2020-10-18T13:18:27","modified_gmt":"2020-10-18T17:18:27","slug":"whataboutworry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ovcf.org\/ovcf_wp\/2020\/10\/whataboutworry\/","title":{"rendered":"What about Worry?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>2020 THEME: TRUTH<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h1>SERIES: Q &amp; A<\/h1>\n<h1><strong>TITLE:\u00a0 What about Worry?<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h1><strong>Scripture: Luke 10:38-42; Matthew 6:23-34<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorry does not empty tomorrow of sorrows; it empties today of its strength.\u201d\u00a0 Corrie Ten Boom<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WHAT DOES WORRY LOOK LIKE?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Worry means \u201cto take a thought\u201d or \u201cto be careful.\u201d Gk -&gt; (<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to be divided<\/span><\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Worry can be seen in various ways:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It can be seen as (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>anger and impatience<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It can be seen as (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>rush and hurry<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It can be seen as (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>fear and panic<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It can be seen in (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>pessimism and criticism<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>II.\u00a0\u00a0 WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO WIN OVER WORRY?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">What does Matthew 6: 25-34 tell us?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Worry is (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>inconsistent<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Worry is (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>irrational<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Worry is (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>ineffective<\/strong><\/span>) and (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>illogical<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Worry is (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>irreligious<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">So what can we do to deal with stress?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Don\u2019t dwell on tomorrow\u2019s (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>stress<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Don\u2019t dwell on yesterday\u2019s (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>mess<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Don\u2019t dwell on yesterday\u2019s (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>success<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Do focus on (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>today<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next Week: Series: \u201cQ &amp; A\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What about Searing Loss?
