I.\u00a0\u00a0 SIMPLE MEN AND A BIG SURPRISE \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Here is the key and Rome missed it: \u201cChristmas is a powerful reminder that what is important in heaven is often unimportant on earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSheepherding was one of those occupations that everyone needed but no one wanted.\u201d\u00a0 (Jeremiah<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

What can we learn from the shepherds?<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They (heard)<\/strong><\/span> well.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They (listened<\/strong><\/span>) well.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They (worshiped<\/strong><\/span>) well.<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0 WISE MEN AND A SMALL SURPRISE \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Who were these guys?<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The name wise men is the word magos in Greek. It typically means \u201cthose who have wisdom through investigation and interpretation of the movements of heavenly bodies.\u201d\u00a0 Fancy way of saying they were (star-studiers<\/strong><\/span>) or (astronomers<\/strong>).<\/span><\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They were from the east.<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Doubtful just three of them.<\/p>\n

\n

What do we know?<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They had an earnest desire to find the (King of the Jews<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The prophecy of a star is found in Numbers 24:16-17<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Their desire to follow the star let them (place they never thought possible<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What they found let them filled with (worship and joy<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n
