I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 THE DRAMA UNFOLDING \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Matthew talks about Joseph\u2019s role.<\/p>\n

Luke gives us a detailed account.<\/p>\n

John gives us no physical details, but does give us the deeper meaning.<\/p>\n

\n

This story begins years before. To God time is (irrelevant<\/strong><\/span>). He is on no one\u2019s (time table<\/span><\/strong>).\u00a0 The whole story was set in motion before time began, even thousands of years before. Every page, Genesis to Malachi, seems to tremble with the wondrous (anticipation of his coming<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 THE DOCTRINE MADE KNOWN \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Verse 14: the most concise biblical statement of the (Incarnation<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The first four words express the reality that God took on (humanity<\/strong><\/span>); the (infinite became finite<\/strong><\/span>); and the (invisible became visible<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 {See Phil.2:6-7}<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The idea of becoming flesh means He took on full humanity. Be He also was (fully God<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\u201cChristmas was not a beginning but a becoming. Christmas wasn\u2019t His start, but His commission. He was not created; He came.\u201d (The Christmas We Didn\u2019t Expect-Mathis<\/em>)<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So why did Jesus come and what does all this mean?\u00a0 [Mt.1:21]<\/p>\n

We are not being told merely that Jesus Christ has eternal life or even that He gives it. This verse in I John 1 is saying He is eternal life, salvation itself.<\/p>\n
