\u201cMost men led lives of quiet desperation.\u201d Thoreau<\/p>\n

I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CHASING WISDOM IS EMPTY \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\nLies we face:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cLaugh and the whole laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cEvery day our world is getting better and better.\u201d<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cThere is a light at the end of every tunnel.\u201d<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cThings are never as bad as they seem so dream, dream, dream.\u201d<\/p>\n

What does Solomon tell us?<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 His first quest is to understand the (universe<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 His second quest is to understand the (meaning of life<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 His third quest is for the accumulation of (wisdom<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 CHASING PLEASURE IS EMPTY<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Two key words to notice:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Pleasure<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 How many times he uses the word (\u201cI\u201d<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

What we need to learn:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pleasure holds out promises but (can\u2019t fulfill them<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pleasure pretends to open our eyes but in reality (blinds them<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pleasure (disillusions<\/strong><\/span>) us, making us cover up the (emptiness<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n
