Scripture: Eccl. 5: 8 – 6:12<\/strong><\/h1>\n

\u201cOur hearts are restless, O God, until they find their rest in you.\u201d\u00a0 Augustine<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

THE HOLE EXPOSED \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cI looked at life from both sides now\/From give and take and still somehow\/It\u2019s love\u2019s illusions that I recall\/I really don\u2019t know love at all.\u201d\u00a0 That song is a song about (futility<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

It is very easy to get (envious<\/strong><\/span>) of what others have. Envy can lead to a stronger emotion called (jealousy<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 Then the (disquiet<\/strong><\/span>) kicks in. The feeling of (\u201cIt\u2019s not fair”<\/strong><\/span>) follows. The feeling of (dissatisfaction<\/strong><\/span>) becomes real, as does the feeling of (\u201cI want more\u201d<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Another downer from Solomon: (failure<\/strong><\/span>) is a real possibility.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

THE HOLE FILLED \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cThings fall apart; the center cannot hold.\u201d\u00a0 William Butler Yeats<\/p>\n

\u201cThe unexamined life is not worth living.\u201d\u00a0 Plato<\/p>\n

Three truths we must come to grip with:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God is (sovereign<\/strong><\/span>)- (v.10a)<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We (are not<\/strong><\/span>)- (v.10b)<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Disputing those is a (waste of time<\/strong><\/span>)- (v.11)<\/p>\n
