I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 IT WAS NECESSARY TO FULFILL GOD\u2019S PLAN \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cA void has opened in the heart of Christianity. Where the cross once stood is now a vacuum.\u201d<\/p>\n

Remember these two words: Penal substitution.\u00a0 Penal denotes (punishment<\/strong><\/span>). Substitution speaks of a (replacement<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 Penal substitution atonement is where one person bears the penalty someone else deserves<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Plain teaching of Scripture: \u201cChrist died for the ungodly.\u201d (Rom.5:6) \u201cWhile we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.\u201d (Rom.5:8)\u00a0 \u201cHe was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.\u201d (Rom.4:25) (NLT)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cross is a powerful interruption to our \u2018easy way out\u2019 thinking. It catches us up short. It confronts our vain wishes. The horrible suffering and death of the perfect Messiah, Jesus, on a criminal\u2019s cross, outside of the city on a hill of death, tells us in no uncertain terms that when it comes to humanity\u2019s deepest and inescapable problem, there is no easy way out. None.\u201d Tripp<\/p>\n

II.\u00a0\u00a0 IT WAS NECESSARY TO PAY FOR SIN (and our salvation) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

What is sin?<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Doing what (God forbids<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Not doing what the (Word of God requires<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

4 essential things about God\u2019s forgiveness:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It is (inclusive<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It is (for now<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It is for those (who want it<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leads to (godly living<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n
