It also had (<strong><u>spiritual overtones<\/u><\/strong>).<\/li>\n<li>It was referred to as (<strong><u>\u201cthe finger of God\u201d<\/u><\/strong>) by the Jews.<\/li>\n<li>The full treatment for leprosy is found in Lev.13:38-46.<\/li>\n<li>It eventually led to (<strong><u>solitary confinement<\/u><\/strong>) and (<strong><u>isolation<\/u><\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>II.\u00a0\u00a0 THE COMPASSION OF THE SAVIOR<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">See this man\u2019s desperation is a clear light:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>He comes among people-a clear violation of (<strong><u>Moses\u2019 law<\/u><\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li>He comes with (<strong><u>nothing to lose<\/u><\/strong>)-he\u2019s already doomed.<\/li>\n<li>He comes after years of (<strong><u>isolation and being alone<\/u><\/strong>).<\/li>\n<li>He comes directly (<strong><u>to Jesus<\/u><\/strong>) in the midst of the crowd.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">What was Jesus\u2019 reaction? (<strong><u>Moved with compassion<\/u><\/strong>).\u00a0 Defined as \u201cthe act or capacity for sharing the painful feelings of another.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Active compassion engages with the pain of another person. What did Jesus do? He (<strong><u>reached out and touched<\/u><\/strong>) the leper.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">A great irony: the leper is told to tell no one and he tells everyone.
